Craig Seymour is a photographer based in Chicago, IL. He has shown his work in Chicago and New York City, and his photographs have appeared in The Washington Post, Red Eye, Unzipped, Out.com, $pread, Next, and The Guide, among others. His photo book, AMERICAN BOYS: a strip club diary, was called one of the “best of ‘09” by Out.com.

He is also a writer. He has written two books: the Amazon.com bestselling memoir, All I Could Bare: My Life in the Strip Clubs of Gay Washington, D.C. (Atra/Simon & Schuster) and the biography, Luther: The Life and Longing of Luther Vandross (HarperCollins). He has also written for The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Vibe, and Spin, among other publications, and has served as Pop Music Critic for the Buffalo News and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He holds a B.A. in Art History and a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland in College Park, and is Associate Professor of Journalism at Northern Illinois University.
